Hello there! My name is Trisha O'Bryant and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in MN and TX. I'm also a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC). I decided to further my education over 10 years ago, so that I could professionally help others with their own journey in life. I hold a master's degree in counseling from Missouri Baptist University and a doctorate degree in psychology from Grand Canyon University (all but dissertation). I see individuals for therapy who are ages 14+ and can also offer chemical health assessments, by request. I'm also a Minnesota Board of Behavioral Health Approved Supervisor for licensees pursuing their LADC. All of my services are offered online via use of a HIPAA compliant video therapy platform.
I specialize in helping people who struggle with addiction, anxiety, depression, serious mental illness of self or family member, life transitions, stress management, and more. Through the years, I have provided services as a case manager, assessor, therapist, and care advocate and have worked for nonprofit agencies, for-profit agencies, private practices, and managed care organizations. My in-depth knowledge of mental health, substance abuse issues, and navigating care systems allows me to take a personalized approach in supporting others.
My approach to therapy is holistic and person-centered, which supports clients to find the answers that have been inside of them all along. As a therapist, I am intuitive and compassionate, yet direct. I employ a mix of modalities, including mindfulness-based, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, narrative therapy, solution-focused therapy, and strength-based therapy, and coaching. I enjoy helping people identify their needs, strengths and goals while we navigate together the steps for living one’s most fulfilling life possible. I believe that in order for real change to occur, we need to examine our thought process, which is the first essential step in understanding the connection between our thoughts, feelings, and behavior. With greater awareness, a person can make desired changes and enjoy everyday life. It would be my honor to work with you and support you on your journey!
