Hello! I’m so glad you are here!

Do you feel like you need footing in your life? Do you long for connection and closeness to others but struggle with the path there? Does anxiety, depression, and worry keep you from being the person you wish you could be? I am an attachment-oriented practitioner looking to work with children/adolescents (ages 7+), adults, couples and families who struggle with communication and everyday life. I greatly enjoy working with teens and their families to build coping skills as they manage life transitions, family dynamics and/or parental separation. I welcome all people across the gender and sexuality spectrum!

I have clinical experience and training in trauma, eating disorders and human sexuality. I have a strong interest in working with sexual concerns, alternative relationship modalities
(non-monogamy/polyamory), and kink/BDSM.

I draw from Internal Family Systems (how to make the competing voices in your head work together), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (how to challenge your thoughts), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (how to make peace with what you cannot change). For couples/throuples/others, I also draw from Gottman (emphasizing emotional attachment and connection).

In our therapeutic space, I strive to be collaborative, kind, and direct. I work through an existential and feminist lens. I believe there is a randomness to life, and we need to anchor ourselves in our values to bring meaning and purpose. If you don’t want the script you were given, let’s burn it together! You are worth the journey, you are worth the work, and I would be honored to walk alongside you through this dark and beautiful chaos we call life.

Anna (“Ahhhna”) (she/her/hers) lives with her partner and wonderful kiddos. She enjoys reading, good coffee, cookbooks and podcasts. Snap Judgement, Oologies and Ear Hustle are at the top of her listening list.

Trainings:
CBT-ARFID (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Avoident and Restrictive Feeding and Eating Disorder)
This is an eating disorder where people struggle with issues such as no appetite, texture and sensory aversions, or had a bad experience with food and now all food feels threatening. If this seems like it may be you or your child, please reach out for an appointment!

CBT-E (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Eating Disorders)
Eating disorders can cause multiple symptoms including strict food rules, obsessive thinking, body image distress, and guilt/shame about eating. If this sounds familiar to you or a loved one, please reach out!

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Basic Trained
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a type of therapy that can help a person move their trauma memories and sensations into the part of the brain where they belong, so you no longer have to suffer from them. If you have experienced trauma of any kind and still struggle with its impact on your life, please reach out!

Gottman Level One
This training brought together years of research conducted by Sue and John Gottman, who are considered pioneers of couples therapy. Their interventions seek to strengthen relationships through building communication skills, deepening trust and increasing secure attachment. If you are seeking a closer relationship with your partner/s, therapy can help you get there! Please reach out!

Human Sexualtiy Certificate (in progress)
This is a two-year certificate in human sexuality through Southwestern University in New Mexico. This certificate covers topics such as gender identity and sexual development in children, teens and adults; sex in later stages of life; somatic interventions for pleasure and connection; ethical non-monogamy; porn use and sex addiction; infidelity; and other related topics. All hours are AASECT approved. If any of these topics are ones you would like support through, both individually or with your partner/s, please reach out! I also have experience working with children who are sorting out their identities, and working with parents to provide language and tools in talking with and supporting their children.

Credentials:
Masters of Counseling Psychology with a concentration in Marriage and Family Therapy, St. Thomas University, 2024
Bachelor of Arts, Luther College, 2008

Please note I am a pre-licensed clinician. I am currently under the supervision of Hannah Stevens, LMFT, at Through Therapy Collective and Ashley Myhre, LMFT, Board Certified Sex Therapist, at POW! Psychotherapy.
