Hello! My name is Lauren, and I am a Pre-Licensed Therapist working towards becoming a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
I recently completed my Master of Science degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and have spent the past two years assisting individuals, couples, and families as they navigate the complex challenges of life.
I am passionate in providing an authentic, genuine, and warm therapeutic experience, as well as a safe space for healing and growth. Using systemic-based theories and modalities, I particularly enjoy working with couples and adults who are feeling stuck or experiencing big changes in their lives.
Changes such as a new career, moving to a new location, or family/relationship transitions can feel overwhelming and difficult. There are times in our lives where we can feel worried, insecure, or fearful. My hope is to work together to gain greater insight into you, your story, and your relationships. This will help us to add tools to your life “toolbox” to help combat life’s challenges. I have a background in workplace health and safety, which has given me practice in considering all aspects and systems in our lives that can have a great influence on our overall well-being.
In addition to that, I am very passionate in helping couples strengthen their “team” with effective communication and conflict resolution skills. I am a certified Prepare/Enrich Facilitator for those who are seeking premarital counseling or would like a “temperature check” on their relationship. I want couples to know that I am committed to a judgment-free space where every person in the room is cared for and heard.
I believe that suffering is an inevitable part of our human experience - but we do not have to suffer alone. Leaning on others for support and “sitting” in the hard emotions can build our strength and lead us back to health and joy. I look forward to working with you!
In my spare time I enjoy visiting my family and friends back home in Connecticut, dancing, and boxing with a heavy bag - it is a great work out and stress reliever!
