Accepting New Clients

Hello and welcome! I’m Whitney, a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in Minnesota and Maine. I have over 10 years of experience providing trauma informed care to children, adolescents and families. In therapy, I strive to create connections and work collaboratively to create change and navigate the uncertainties that life throws our way.

I earned my master’s in social work from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. Throughout my career and my graduate school courses, I completed training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, the impact of trauma on development, and an adoption competency certification through the National Adoption Competency Mental Health Training Initiative.

My goal in therapy is to create a space for you to feel safe being present and exploring the bittersweet moments of life, the light and darkness, the joy and sorrow. We will work together to identify strategies to help you navigate challenges, process stressful and traumatic experiences, and learn and grow as you step forward in your journey of healing. You are the expert of you, and I hope that while working together you are able to find and use your voice and feel a sense of belonging.

When I’m not working, I enjoy exploring the outdoors walking, hiking, and camping. I like to read both fiction and non-fiction books and experiment with new recipes to cook and bake. I love to travel domestically and internationally. I have enjoyed time internationally in Ireland, Greece, Mexico, the Philippines, and Canada and more. More recently, my travel has included road trips to explore our beautiful national parks and visiting family throughout the country. At home, I enjoy our quiet farm, tending to the garden and caring for our bees, sheep, and dog.

“I believe my own voice continues to be found where I am being present and responding from my heart, moment by moment. My voice is born repeatedly in the fields of uncertainty.”
